Restoration and Repair

My name is Philippe Raynaud and I have an in-house luthier workshop where I perform delicate repairs and restorations.

I have worked with Mihail Jojatu for many years on bringing back to life the exceptional cellos he has collected. Together, we restore and preserve the personality of each instrument with long-lasting repairs and set-ups.

I started my career as a luthier in 1973 at the age of 19 as an apprentice in Mirecourt, France. Since then, I have traveled to many countries and have visited many luthier workshops. I have worked for Jean Schmitt in Lyon, France; Reuning & Son in Boston, Massachusetts; and Christophe Landon in New York, New York.
